Etsy adoration

For Christmas, I got my youngest sister a sweet little Moleskin notebook with a St. Louis print on the front from Art Shark Designs on Etsy

Megan, the artist, offers prints of two folks with red umbrellas in front of city and college landmarks from around the world (Dublin, Paris, Philly and tons more. Except not Des Moines. Surprise.).

The notebook came with a note card with the same print, so I framed it up and put it in the hall to show my Lou pride. I love it!

Paper boy

The traditional first anniversary gift is paper, and seeing as how Hubs is on his way to becoming a total beer geek, I knew I wanted to get him a really cool beer journal. Of course, I turned to Etsy where I found The Lady of Letters. Not only was she amazingly helpful and talented (and reasonably priced!), but she is based in Savannah, where Hubs and I went on our honeymoon.

I used the design from our wedding on the cover and even the inside pages are customized.

I'm proud of this gift, but I'm already nervous for next year. Cotton or china? Yikes.

Granny garter

My garter was made by a sweet gal from Boone, Iowa who I found on Etsy. It was crocheted with a purple ribbon and I loved that it was a homespun, semi-frumpy take on one of the racier wedding traditions. I like juxtaposition like that.

The wedding brand

These little projects was based on the design of all of our wedding stationary (which I apparently don't have photos of!). I loved the colors and design Kim from Kim's Custom Creations came up with for our Save the Date, so we used it throughout. I loved it and had a great time using her original design and fonts to create all the little extras like this sign.

All those little luminaries were the DIY project from hell, by the way. I found a lacy paper punch and wanted the tops of the bags to be lacy instead of jagged paper, but the punches pooped out about a third of the way through the 200 luminaries we made. Luckily, I had some awesome helpers!

Oh! For my stuffs

Goodness gracious.

I just started my hunt for a pretty clutch to carry all the practical junk I'll need on the big day (chapstick, cell phone, id, cheez-its). I got stuck on mollusa's Etsy shop. Because, damn, homeslice makes lovely purses!
